I've studied Portuguese with five instructors now. Inês is as good as it gets. There were students in our class that had been studying for a while, myself included, and others for whom I believe this was their first Portuguese class or lesson. Having taught group classes before (to children), I'm even more impressed by the instruction and results. It takes special attention on the part of the instructor to meet the needs of all of the group. Inês managed to deliver lessons that kept everyone's attention. The students who knew more weren't bored while those new to the language seemed not overwhelmed. Inês' approach allowed the students to understand the fast, first paths to achieve early proficiency with language basics. Portuguese has a reputation of being a difficult language to learn, but you wouldn't know it by seeing what I and my fellow classmates achieved with Inês.

The course is well-paced for both beginners and those with some experience with Portuguese. It is designed for those new to the language, but enough additional material is provided to challenge those with previous exposure. Inês is helpful, always willing to answer questions and clarify points. I appreciated learning some of the distinctions between Brazilian and European Portuguese. The fantastic class dynamic was a bonus!

This course is extremely informative. I'm beginning to recognize words in Portuguese in some of the Facebook groups that I'm apart of. I enjoy learning from Ines and being in class with my classmates.
